For our "Painting a Pelican in Acrylic Workshop", you will need a few essential materials and supplies to create your masterpiece. Firstly, you will need a canvas or canvas panel. If you are a beginner, I would suggest a 12 x 16" canvas or if you're a bit more experienced go with a bit bigger 20 x16". Acrylic paints in various colors listed below will be necessary to capture the realistic features of the pelican.

In addition to paints and brushes, you will also need a palette for mixing colors, water, and paper towels for cleaning brushes and wiping off excess paint. A pencil for sketching the outline of the pelican on the canvas before painting is also essential to ensure accuracy in depicting the bird's form and features. Lastly, print out the reference photo of a pelican provided below to follow along during the workshop and help you create a realistic and lifelike painting of this majestic bird.
